We spent the night in a house occupied by a military post of eight soldiers under a Spanish sergeant. It was a hospice, built next to a powder-magazine. The summit of Imposible, as far as I could make out, was covered with a sandstone rich in quartz, without fossils. Here, as on the neighboring hills, the strata are lined regularly along a north-north-east, south-south-west axis.
